About Us
The Horse & Jockey
After a major refurbishment we opened for business on the 4th of July 2007.
The new tenant, Linda Davies who has been in the pub/catering industry for over 30 years set out a plan to put the Horse & Jockey back on the map, as being a meeting place with quality and service in mind.
Furnished with polished brass and oak, serving a selection of good beers, six guest ales, fine wine's and excellent food all set in a warm and relaxing atmosphere, with all this mind what more could you ask for,
Our main task was to put a number of cask ale's on tap we have six ale's that change daily, we also serve Carling, Stella, Marston's smooth, Guinness and Oyster stout.
Being tied to Marston's Brewery has had its advantages as Martson's are taking over a number of well known micro Brewery's such as Jenning's, Ringwood, Wychwood and Brakspear to name but a few.
We recently and proudly acquired the Cask Marque Accredited Award for the quality of our Ale's, We are also have an entry in THE GOOD BEER GUIED 2010 AS RECOMENDED BY CAMRA.
The most recent acquisition to the pub is SKY SPORTS LIVE with three 42in LCD TV'S which has made the Horse & Jockey a great place to watch any sporting events.
The Horse & Jockey has a large conservatory restaurant which is adjacent to our mediterranean courtyard garden paved in stone with quality seating, soft lighting and piped music. The courtyard has an array tropical plants and flowers.
Our restaurant is open daily the menu is all home-made and is known to locals as good pub grub at the right price, the specials board costs £3.99 and plenty of it (see menu page and our opening times).
All our staff are polite and smartly dressed in all black or black and white are ready to serve you.
All areas are maintained and cleaned with the highest standard in mind.
Please come along and treat yourself to a Horse & Jockey night out.
